Gunfire Rocks Hartford Street as Southeast D.C. Man Shot Multiple Times

A quiet Sunday night on Hartford Street SE turned into a crime scene when a man was shot multiple times and rushed to the hospital, prompting a police manhunt in Southeast D.C.

Officers were called just before 9 p.m. on March 22 to the 2800 block of Hartford Street SE, where they found an adult man who was conscious and breathing but suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to WJLA. D.C. Fire and EMS rushed him to a hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released any update on his condition.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are leading the investigation and are searching for a suspect described as having short hair and a full beard. The man was last seen in a white long-sleeve shirt, dark pants and light-colored shoes, and investigators say he was spotted near Buena Vista Terrace SE and may have been riding a Lime bike, WJLA reported.
