MORNING HEADLINES | Mount Pleasant leaders on March 17 broke ground on Gary Santos Park, a planned sports complex and park on Rifle Range Road, just in time for spring.
The park is funded by the town’s $50 million recreation referendum passed in 2022. It will include artificial turf sports fields, tennis and pickleball courts, a playground, picnic pavilions and a building with space for a gymnasium and classrooms.
Gary Santos Park, formerly named Rifle Range Park, was renamed in honor of longtime town Councilman Gary Santos, who served from 1996 to 2025. It is expected to be complete by fall 2027…
