CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Several people showed up in protest at the Charleston County School Board meeting on Monday after a nomination process for a newly created education foundation sparked tension.
The School Board of Trustees elected a board of directors for the newly created Education Foundation. The nomination process has drawn criticism from some residents who don’t believe the selection is in the community’s best interest.
“Our children, parents and community of District 8 deserve to be represented by the best available person,” one public commenter said. “Someone from that area who knows and understands the people, needs and aspirations, and do their very best to make sure we are included.”…
