OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEVV) — An off-duty Owensboro police officer faces an assault charge following a physical altercation with a child at a local behavioral health facility Monday night.
The Owensboro Police Department responded to a 911 call at River Valley Behavioral Health Children’s Hospital at 8:19 p.m. regarding a fight involving 39-year-old Christina Butler. Due to Butler’s status as an active officer, the department requested the Kentucky State Police (KSP) to lead the criminal investigation.
