Abandoned Southwest Michigan paper mill turns into blank canvas of creativity

VICKSBURG, MI –– For the past nine years, a Vicksburg paper mill has turned into a blank 416,000-square-foot canvas for a select few artists.

The Prairie Ronde Artist Residency invites 12 artists a year, chosen through a highly competitive application process, to create at the former Lee Company Paper Mill and on the 80-acre property.

In the first eight years of the program it has grown into a world-renowned artist residency, hosting over 150 artists…
