Woman charged in West Warwick crash that sent five people to hospital

West Warwick police said Monday that a Warwick woman is facing a drunken driving charge after a head-on crash last week on Providence Street.

Police said Ashley Moran was on her way to drop off friends early Friday after a night out and told officers that she had consumed a few alcoholic beverages before getting behind the wheel. Police said friends who were with Moran at the time of the crash also disclosed witnessing her have three to four drinks prior to the incident.

Moran reportedly crossed the center line while traveling eastbound and struck Abou Ngom’s Honda CR-V head on. Police said Ngom was in and out of consciousness at the scene and was later transported to Rhode Island Hospital…
