Police say they’ve made an arrest in a $20,000 bank fraud scheme in Upstate New York.
New York State Police said Aidan Chun Loong Chan, 19, of Hicksville, N.Y., was arrested Sunday after a months-long investigation into a grand larceny case in the Wayne County town of Williamson.
State Police said they received a complaint on Aug. 1, 2025, from a Williamson resident who reported a scam involving individuals posing as bank fraud representatives. The victim said they were deceived into withdrawing $20,000 in cash under the false belief that their accounts were compromised, then gave the money to an individual who arrived at her residence to collect the money…
