Dallas ISD announced its Teacher and Principal of the Year finalists, and three of them serve at East Dallas schools.
Teachers who are selected by their campuses as teachers of the year can apply for the district-wide honor. Eighty-five of them did just that, and 10 were selected as finalists on the elementary, secondary and choice/magnet levels. Special education teacher Megan Vance at Harold W. Lang Sr. Middle School in White Rock Hills and instrumental music teacher Asia Charles at Solar Preparatory School for Girls on Henderson Avenue were named as finalists for this award.
