GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – The Brown County Sheriff’s Office is warning about new twists in the old jury duty scam.
The sheriff’s office says it’s receiving numerous reports right now about the scam. A scammer claims they’re a deputy with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office and says you missed jury duty and now you owe money.
We’ve heard that before, but the scammer is also sending the victim a text with a picture of an arrest warrant (it’s fake). They may also send you a QR code to scan (don’t scan it)…
