Letter writer wants city to act on prairie dogs in north Lubbock park

Six years ago, when my wife and I came to Lubbock, I often went to the Carillo Family Recreation Area at the intersection of Baylor Street and Avenue N to enjoy the colorful green park and beautiful lake below.

Today, the prairie dogs have destroyed the park and turned it into a wasteland.

I thought that, during the past summer, the department in the city responsible for parks maintenance would remove prairie dogs and replant grass to restore the park to its former beauty…
