Former Newman teacher faces 42 total charges as investigators add new allegations

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – A former Isidore Newman School teacher has been re-arrested for a third time as prosecutors added new charges in an ongoing child exploitation investigation.

Benoit Cransac, 49, was booked Monday on 17 counts of video voyeurism of a child under 17, according to the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office.

The new arrest brings the total number of charges Cransac faces to 42.

Cransac was first arrested Jan. 8 on 22 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material. He was re-arrested Jan. 21 on three additional counts of child sexual abuse material. Monday’s arrest marked the third time he has been booked in the case…
