One person was shot and killed late Saturday in Fairview Heights, turning the 100 block of Bountiful Drive into an overnight crime scene as officers taped off the area and worked through the night. First responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene, and officers located a suspect several blocks away, taking that person into custody without incident.
According to KSDK, the Fairview Heights Police Department said the victim and the suspect knew each other, and officers recovered a firearm at the scene.
