A major upgrade is coming to River Des Peres Boulevard in southwest St. Louis. The 2.4‑mile stretch from Gravois Avenue to Lansdowne Avenue will be widened and resurfaced, with a new raised median, improved lighting, and added trees. Plans also include a new traffic signal at Loughborough Avenue, better transit stops, and safer intersections with dedicated left‑turn lanes and high‑friction pavement.
The project is backed by a $17.2 million federal grant. Design work runs 2025–2027, with a public open house planned for summer 2026. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2028.
