Crash takes out power pole in North Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Police shut down traffic in a North Omaha block on Monday afternoon after a crash snapped a power pole, sending electrical lines into the street.

Omaha Police had closed Ames Avenue between 60th and 61st streets in both directions by 12:30 p.m. Monday.

OPPD’s outage map says the power outage in that area started at 11:56 a.m. and was expected to be restored by 1 p.m. At about 1:30 p.m., OPPD was reporting 310 customers were without power in that area…
