Omaha Students’ Ceramic Art Featured in National Exhibit

Four Omaha Public Schools students are being recognized on a national stage for their ceramic artwork. Addy Hamilton and Hani Hassan, sophomores at Northwest High, had their pieces chosen for the 29th Annual National K-12 Ceramic Exhibition in Detroit, Michigan. Their works, “Witness of the Woods” and “The Enchanted Strawberry,” were selected from more than 1,000 entries nationwide.

Benson High students Vittorio Heh and Gerardo Gutierrez-Cano also earned spots in the same exhibition with textured ceramic boxes they created in class. Their teacher, Sharon Carr, said both students showed creativity and persistence in developing their designs…
