Some South Dakota pets don’t have an easy road to finding their “fur-ever” home. One Sioux Falls dog is feeling the effects of loneliness after being returned to a local shelter.
After her new home “wasn’t the right fit,” Junie is back at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society. It’s the one place she never wanted to return to, and she’s not handling this well…at all.

Junie is hurting inside. She’s so young and shouldn’t be experiencing this type of pain. She feels abandoned. In an emotional Facebook post, the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society staff says she wants to be loved so badly. Every second and every day counts for Junie. She’s doing her best to hold onto hope.
Junie is a year-old German Shepard/Mix who needs someone to step up now before it’s too late. She already feels so defeated after her previous family sent her back to the shelter.
Junie craves attention more than anything. She wants to be close to people so badly… and when she’s out of her kennel, she shines—running in the yard and happily sitting with you to get pets. She just doesn’t quite know how to fully accept the love she’s looking for. Her heart is there; she just needs someone patient enough to help her feel safe.
Now, this doesn’t mean that Junie is a bad dog or that the owners are bad people. Sometimes things don’t work out. The only thing that matters is that every pet finds the right home.
