1 hurt after fire causes around $500k in home damages in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A person was hurt, and a home suffered a million dollars in damages after a fire on Monday morning.

Around 6:45 a.m. on March 23, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the 13300 block of Darnestown Road, near Bondy Lane.

A single-family home caught fire in an attached garage, where it extended into the house, said Pete Piringer, a spokesperson for MCFRS. All occupants were able to get out. One person was injured with non-life-threatening injuries. Nine adults and five children were displaced.
