TRUSSVILLE, Ala. (TRIBUNE) — Funeral arrangements are set for Maj. John “Alex” Klinner of Trussville. The airman was one of six Air Force crew members killed when a U.S. military KC-135 refueling aircraft crashed in Iraq.

“Major Klinner represents the very best of our community and our country,” Trussville Mayor Ben Short said. “His courage, his service, and his sacrifice will never be forgotten. On Monday, we will come together not just to mourn his loss, but to honor a life that was lived with purpose and a commitment to something greater than self.”

“While we honor Major Klinner’s service, we also grieve alongside his wife, his children, and the entire Klinner family,” Short said. “Our hearts are with them, and as a community, we will stand beside them in the days ahead lifting them up in prayer, surrounding them with support, and ensuring they never walk through this loss alone.”…
