Charlottesville offers more details on Wednesday’s Council meeting on low-barrier shelter

Charlottesville City Council is scheduled to meet at 4 p.m. on Wednesday where the public will get more information on a low-barrier shelter to provide space for people to live and receive services.

While the agenda is not yet posted, the city sent out a release today with additional information about a presentation from the Low Barrier Shelter Working Group.

“The workgroup—comprised of community partners including PACEM, The Haven, and BRACH—will share recommendations and a conceptual path forward for consideration,” reads the release. “The session is designed to provide City Council with an opportunity to receive the presentation, ask questions, and discuss next steps.”…
