  • Fire danger will be high as dry air moves in.
  • Temps are back in the 80s Thursday and Friday.

First Alert Weather Summary

Temperatures are dropping tonight. Down to the upper 40s. A cold front passes through the Midlands tonight and will knock our temps down for the next couple of days.

The front brings in drier air and some winds which increases our fire dangers. Expect fires to spread more quickly under these conditions. Brush from this past winter and dry grasses along with trees knocked down by Helene add plenty of fuel for fires to spread and burn for a long time.

Highs are near 60 Tuesday afternoon. Expect mostly cloudy skies. High pressure builds into the afternoon hours.

Lows dip down into the mid 40s for Wednesday morning. You’ll need your jacket. A big ridge of high pressure builds over the region. Highs rebound into the upper 60s. Dry air is still in place.

We warm up Thursday. More of a southern flow kicks in as another high pressure system forms north of the Gulf. Lows are near 51 and highs reach 80.

We’re even warmer for Friday. Highs reach the upper 80s. We see mostly sunny skies. High pressure is settled over the region.

Saturday a cold front passes through and it knocks down our temps. Lows are in the mid 50s and highs reach the low 60s with partly cloudy skies.
