Designs showcase planned $45M Kalamazoo Township community complex

KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Kalamazoo Township trustees got a first look at design renderings visualizing a new community complex with an expected budget of around $45 million.

Signs already mark the location of the 100,000-square-foot facility on Douglas Avenue near W Mosel Avenue. Stone and wood frame a glass entrance and a first floor leading into the complex in the digital renderings. It’s the side most people will see when the building is complete.

Groundbreaking is slated for June. Clerk Lisa Mackie was concerned about whether construction would run into the 2028 general election.

“I either want to be moved in or I want to stay. I kind of have to figure out a plan to make it feasible for me. Are you confident with that timeline?” she asked the project team…
