At 4 p.m., Newark police, in in a joint investigation with federal law enforcement, conducted a stop on William Street in East Orange regarding a firearm investigation, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said.
The 13-year-old boy was detained inside Jenny Deli and Grocery, Miranda said. Video obtained by ABC 7 shows the boy being grabbed by police and then put on top of boxes. Officers then handcuffed the boy, ABC 7 reported.
Amirah May, the boy’s mother, told ABC 7 her son was wrongfully targeted and physically hurt. May said police told her they were looking for a man in his 20s. The boy told ABC7 he has PTSD and doesn’t want to go outside anymore…
