Orangevale home damaged in Tuesday afternoon fire

ORANGEVALE — A Tuesday afternoon structure fire left an Orangevale home heavily damaged after flames breaking out in a garage prompted a significant multi-unit response from the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District and assisting agencies.

Units were dispatched at approximately 4:47 p.m. to the area of Dahboy Way and Quail Oak Way, where multiple engine companies, medic units and command staff responded. According to radio traffic from the scene, crews were advised while en route that the fire had extended beyond vegetation and into the structure, escalating the response.

As firefighters arrived, crews quickly deployed hose lines and applied an aggressive attack on active fire area of the home. The fire appeared to have taken hold in the garage area and reportedly extended into the attic space which was quickly vented by firefighters on the roof of the home…
