BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — On Monday evening, crews from the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department rescued a dog from the Seneca River using a helicopter.
Near Baldwinsville, it was around 6:09 p.m. when dispatchers received a call about a goldendoodle struggling in the frigid waters. The aircrew swiftly responded to the scene, spotting the dog in “deteriorating condition” from treading in the middle of the river.
Aircrew used the helicopter, known as Air1, to pilot low enough that the chopper could touch the water. An Air1 crew member then climbed out to the helicopter’s side, successfully pulling the dog out of the river…
