WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A community 5K race is planned for May 9 to raise awareness and support for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease in Wilmington.
The “Beat It 5K,” organized by nonprofit Beat Parkinson’s Today in partnership with Brunches, will take place at The Pointe at Barclay, 2030 Stonecrop Drive. The event includes a professionally timed 5K race and a one-mile walk, and participants of all fitness levels are invited to join.
Registration opens at 7 a.m., with the 5K starting at 8 a.m. and the one-mile walk beginning at 8:05 a.m. Awards are scheduled for around 9 a.m., followed by a post-race celebration at Brunches at The Pointe.
