BRPD officer facing felony, accused of lying about domestic dispute

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Baton Rouge Police have arrested one of their own after an incident Monday night. Investigators said Anthony Jerome Buffington lied about a domestic dispute that left a child injured.

Buffington is charged with obstruction of justice – a felony.

Investigators were dispatched to an apartment on Ben Hur Road inside the city limits of Baton Rouge Monday night, around 9:30 p.m., after a female was seen smashing a Baton Rouge City Police Unit with a wrench. Officers who arrived on the scene found the unit was assigned to Buffington.

A warrant for Buffington’s arrest says he told responding officers that an unknown female (who did not like the police) was hitting his unit with something, so he moved it further down Ben Hur…
