For the second time in two years, Winterset police are facing a lawsuit alleging false arrest.
Scott Mineart of Winterset is suing the City of Winterset and Winterset Police Officer Logan Camp in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa.
Mineart alleged that early in the evening of Feb. 9, 2024, he was sitting in a vehicle that was parked in his driveway in Winterset. The lawsuit alleges that Camp was on routine patrol at the time and that he “executed a traffic stop of Mineart’s parked vehicle on private property.”…
