JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The man charged in connection to a body found at a Jackson home appeared in court on March 24, 2026.
During a hearing on Tuesday, John Ryan received a $10,000 bond. Ryan and his wife, Samantha, were both arrested and charged with desecration of a human corpse in December 2025.

Jackson police said the body of Carol Ryan, John Ryan’s mother, was discovered buried in the backyard of her residence.
The defense argued on Tuesday that the case was not desecration and that Carol Ryan died of natural causes.
The case will now go to a grand jury.
