Olathe rallies around music teacher who survived ‘random’ stabbing at city park

An Olathe music teacher was stabbed in the neck while at a park with her children last week. Now, community members are rallying around her in support, with a fundraiser bringing in over $35,000, a meal train and other assistance.

Jamie Trumpp, a choir and music teacher at Indian Trails Middle School, was attacked mid-day Thursday as she sat at a table in the park with her family, including her three children.

The alleged attacker, Kwan N. Trezvant, of Olathe, was arrested on site and later charged with first-degree attempted murder. His bond was set at $500,000.

A witness told the Post soon after the incident that it appeared to be a random attack with Trezvant allegedly approaching Trumpp from behind as she sat at a picnic table under a park shelter…
