Estate sales surge as demand grows for vintage finds

SHREVEPORT, La. — A recent article in Business Insider suggests the U.S. is entering a “golden age” of estate sales — and the numbers back it up. More than 1.2 million estate sales take place nationwide each year, a figure expected to rise as baby boomers downsize, relocate, or pass on.

On a quiet street in Shreveport, that trend is already visible. Hundreds of people pass through a single estate sale, browsing belongings that may have been collected over a lifetime.
