MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two teenage girls say they were enjoying a senior skip day at Tom Lee Park on Tuesday when gunshots rang out, and they rushed to the aid of another girl who was shot in the back.
The teens, who wished to remain anonymous, said they were sitting at some tables near the playground and basketball courts when someone started shooting. They heard more than a dozen shots.
“They just shooting, and the girl who got shot was standing next to my friend and me. My friend ran, but I stayed because I was in shock,” said one of the teens.

She said she and another teen tried to get the shooting victim to a safe place and ran to a bathroom area near the entrance of the park.
“She was also in shock and got shot in the back, and everybody was running over her, so I had to help her up to the place.”
At 3:21 pm, officers responded to the shooting along Riverside Drive. They said a female was transported to the hospital in non-critical condition, and officers quickly detained two individuals…
