ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Ted Neeley, the actor who brought Jesus to life in the 1973 film “Jesus Christ Superstar,” is coming to Rochester for a one-night farewell appearance at the George Eastman Museum’s Dryden Theatre on Aug. 4.
The screening will feature a DCP (digital cinema package) version of the film, created from 70mm elements. Organizers say it will be the last Northeast showing with Neeley in person.
A VIP reception begins at 5 p.m. in 7Crest Financial Partners Hall. Doors open to the public at 6:30 p.m., with the documentary “Superstars: The Documentary” playing in the background.
