Nearly 1,000 Mass. state workers now make over $250K a year, and the list is growing

A small but increasing share of Massachusetts state employees are making top dollar.

Over the last three years, the number of state workers earning at least $250,000 grew 47%, from 655 to 960, a rate far quicker than the total state payroll or size of the state workforce.
