Celestial event: A conjunction will be visible in Mass. Thursday evening

The moon and Jupiter will be close together in the sky and visible to the naked eye in Massachusetts Thursday evening.

The celestial event, known as a conjunction, will rise above the southern horizon just after sunset on March 26, according to astronomy website In-The-Sky.org. Eastern Massachusetts residents can start looking for the conjunction around 7:20 p.m., while Western Massachusetts residents will need to wait until around 7:30 p.m.
