GRIMES, Iowa – The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says an attempted abduction investigation of a juvenile female last week in Grimes stemmed from a miscommunication.
On Thursday, March 19, a 911 call reporting the incident came in around 8:20 p.m., according to a news release from the PCSO. The original report stated that a juvenile was walking with her bicycle in the area of S James Street and SW Kennybrook Drive when a man offered to fix her bike. When she declined, she claimed the man tried to grab her and pull her into his vehicle. She ran away and told her parents, who called 911. The PCSO released the description of a suspect and his car.
