Omaha Public Schools to implement modified block schedule at two high schools

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Two Omaha high schools will implement a modified block schedule starting next school year.

Omaha Public Schools sent letters to parents of students at Central and Westview high schools notifying them their schools will field test a modified block schedule. Under the new schedule, class periods will run longer on certain days. Instead of having eight class periods on those days, students would have four longer periods with a stronger focus on reading and writing.
