L. SAUCON TWP., Pa. – A welfare check in Lower Saucon Township turned into a deadly standoff Wednesday, drawing tactical units and triggering shelter‑in‑place alerts for nearby residents.
According to 911 dispatchers, officers were called around 10:33 a.m. to the 2400 block of Applebutter Road for a welfare check involving a man reportedly experiencing a mental health crisis. According to emergency call logs, the dispatcher said the “male is brandishing a firearm.”
