Augusta homeless outreach teams work to connect people with help before golf week

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – As Augusta prepares for its busiest weeks, outreach teams are working to connect people experiencing homelessness with help before the crowds arrive.

Outreach teams walk street by street, looking for people and starting conversations. Every stop is different.

“Sometimes we want to categorize people and say, well, everybody’s dealing with mental health, or everybody’s dealing with drug abuse or alcohol abuse. It’s just not true. Different people.
