Chabad expands with opening in Shaker Heights

Nearly six months after trading the fast pace of New York City for the quieter, tree-lined streets of Shaker Heights, the Mishulovin family of eight is finding its rhythm in Cleveland with the launch of the new Shaker Chabad in Shaker Heights.

“It’s a wonderful community so far, throughout this area in Cleveland, and we really find everyone very nice and excited,” Rabbi Choli Mishulovin of Shaker Chabad told the Cleveland Jewish News. “Judaism is very accepted here, and overall, very family oriented. That’s one of the reasons why we’re excited to be here.”

The Mishulovin’s move followed eight years of Chabad work in the Bronx, N.Y. When a call came to bring that work to Northeast Ohio, the couple answered.

“We were recruited by Rabbi Leibel Alevsky, who’s the head of the Chabad of Cleveland,” Chana Mushka Mishulovin, Choli’s wife, told the CJN. “We were doing Chabad work in New York City, in the Bronx for eight years, before moving here.”…
