LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — The South Carolina Department of Transportation is preparing to demolish an old bridge over Interstate 26, with traffic impacts expected over several nights.
SCDOT officials said crews will begin demolishing the old U.S. 21 (Columbia Road) bridge over I-26 at Exit 129 from March 30 through April 1, depending on weather conditions.
To complete the work, traffic on I-26 will be rerouted around the demolition site using the Exit 129 entrance and exit ramps. The closures and detours will take place nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m…
