Eastpointe McDonald’s Horror: Worker Heads To Jury Trial In Manager’s Killing

A jury will decide the fate of an Eastpointe fast food worker accused of fatally stabbing her manager at a McDonald’s on 9 Mile Road, with a trial now set for Sept. 15. The defendant, Afeni Muhammad, appeared in court yesterday as prosecutors moved the long-running case toward a jury.

Pretrial Turn in a High-Stakes Case

According to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office, the jury trial for 27-year-old Afeni Muhammad is scheduled to begin on Sept. 15. Muhammad appeared for a pretrial hearing yesterday, as reported by CBS Detroit. Prosecutors say Muhammad is charged with first-degree premeditated murder and weapon offenses and is being prosecuted as a habitual offender, the office said.
