FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A woman involved in a shooting at a Fort Wayne hotel has accepted a plea deal that dropped more serious charges levied against her.
Jamya Nelson, 18, is one of two people facing arrest for their involvement in a motel shooting in December 2025. Nelson and Alonta Walker, 28, are accused of involvement in the shooting at the Travelers Inn in December 2025 at the 4600 block of E. Washington Boulevard.
Initially charged with attempted murder, Nelson signed a plea deal on Tuesday, pleading guilty to aggravated battery, a level 3 felony, and dropping the attempted murder charges.

Walker – the one accused of continuously pulling the trigger – was shown on the footage walking in the hotel behind Nelson and wearing a latex glove on only his right hand, according to court documents.
