Auburn police looking for stolen Challenger; suspect identified

AUBURN, Ind. (WANE) – The Auburn Police Department asked for the public’s help Wednesday to track down a man and a sports car he was accused of stealing.

Police shared photos of the suspect with a stolen black 2020 Dodge Challenger at a Marathon gas station in Butler this past Saturday at 12:15 a.m. It was stolen Friday, and last seen at the Butler gas station.

The police chief said in an update Wednesday afternoon the man had been identified. It’s unclear if he’d been arrested.

The Challenger appears to be an SRT Hellcat, a rare version of the high-performance muscle car. Police shared the registration out of Ohio is KAV8430, with VIN 2C3CDZC93LH172723…
