A 23-year-old man remains in custody today after a chaotic series of events in Mulberry led to an armed confrontation and a foot race with law enforcement. Polk County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Vidal Jimenez on Tuesday, March 24, following reports of an assault on an 18-year-old victim that began over a dispute about marijuana.
The incident started at a local park when Jimenez and another unidentified individual approached the victim, asking if he was selling drugs.
