Long Beach Man Arrested After Shots Fired Near Carroll Park

A late-night clash between two acquaintances in Long Beach ended with a 23-year-old man in handcuffs after a shot was fired in the direction of another person, police said. No one was hit, but the incident brought officers racing to the streets just west of Carroll Park.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers responded around 10:28 p.m. Monday to a report of shots fired in the 400 block of Ohio Avenue near East Fourth Street. They quickly located a suspect in the area and arrested him. Police identified the man as 23-year-old Uziel Garciarazo and said he fired a round toward the victim but did not strike anyone, as reported by MyNewsLA.

Garciarazo was booked on multiple charges, including assault with a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, contempt of court, and outstanding warrants. He is being held at the Long Beach Municipal Jail on $80,000 bail, according to MyNewsLA.
