More than 100 special education teachers in Wake County will keep their jobs for now after the school board directed district leaders to drop a proposal that would have eliminated 130 positions, though questions remain about future budget cuts.
The proposal, discussed during a lengthy special meeting Tuesday night, would have saved the district more than $10 million in the next school year.
