ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — On Tuesday, Monroe County Sheriff Todd Baxter expressed frustration after a Syracuse man with a prior warrant was arrested for following and assaulting a St. John Fisher University staff member.
Ramel Bell-Scott, 32, allegedly followed the woman on March 15 from a bus stop on Fairport Road to campus, touched her without consent, and exposed himself when confronted. Authorities say he had an active Syracuse warrant and that an order of protection had been issued on behalf of the victim.
“She’s going to be a point of paranoia walking to work in the future, worried about who’s over her shoulder,” Baxter said. “It’s unfortunate, and I think it’s preventable.”…
