WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Wilmington officials are asking the public to support an estimated $17.5 million project to replace a nearly 60-year-old bulkhead that protects Water Street from erosion and flooding.
City officials held a public meeting on Wednesday, March 25, to gather letters of support for a federal grant application due in late April. Officials said the more community backing they can demonstrate, the stronger their application will be.
