Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has suffered a significant setback following a recent no-confidence vote from his department.
The sheriff is being urged to resign by an Arizona union, The Pima County Deputy’s Organization (PCDO), which represents more than 300 deputies in the Pima County Sheriff’s Office. The union unanimously passed a no-confidence vote against Nanos, who is leading the investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, this week.
The union indicated they conducted the vote after Nanos’ “extensive disciplinary history” with the El Paso Police Department came to light, and he apparently neglected to disclose that information to the Pima Department and to the public for over 40 years.
