Person trapped in machinery rescued from roof at Kent Feeds in Altoona

ALTOONA, Iowa — Emergency crews were called out to Kent Feeds in Altoona on Wednesday morning on a report that someone was injured on the roof.

Altoona Fire Chief Jared Ogbourne said the initial call came in at 10:26 a.m. about an unknown problem at the location, 203 1st Avenue North. While crews were on their way, they learned someone was on the roof and might be trapped in some machinery.

Crews arrived and learned that an adult male patient who had been performing contractor work at the site had become entangled in machinery 50 feet above the ground.
